Iran, Nicaragua Defying Unilateralism: Amirabdollahian

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian underlined the common policies of Iran and Nicaragua in defiance of unilateralism.

The Iranian foreign minister, who is accompanying President Ebrahim Raisi in a tour of Latin America, pointed to the significance of the visit to Nicaragua in a post on his Twitter account on Wednesday.

“The positive history of political solidarity between Iran and Nicaragua in the international organizations could spread to the promotion of bilateral cooperation as well,” the foreign minister said.

“The defiance of unilateralism is the common section of the policy of the two countries,” he stressed.

Amirabdollahian also noted that the Iranian administration’s “balanced foreign policy” pays attention to the capacities of Latin America.

The Iranian president and his entourage arrived in Nicaragua on Tuesday evening after a two-day visit to Venezuela, where 19 cooperation agreements were signed.

The Iranian delegation will travel to Cuba on the final leg of the Latin American tour.
