Iran 15th in 2023 World Aquatics U-20 Water Polo Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran finished in 15th place in the 2023 World Aquatics Men’s U-20 Water Polo Championships on Saturday.
Iran, who had had previously defeated Argentina 15-13 in the preliminary round, defeated the South American team 11-9 once again in its last match and came 15th in the 19-team contest.
Iran also defeated Peru and South Africa and lost to Australia and Brazil in the competition.
The round-robin Championships are contested by the world’s heavy hitting water polo nations including Serbia, Spain, Hungary and the US.
The championship started on June 10 in Bucharest/Otopeni, Romania and will finish on June 17.
