Iran Wins First-Ever IWBF World Championship Medal

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated the Netherlands 72-54 on Tuesday to win its first-ever medal in the IWBF World Championship.

Iran had finished fourth in the previous edition held in Germany and won the bronze medal in this edition. 

Britain and the US will meet in the men’s final match in Dubai, the UAE.

Iran was defeated against Britain (twice) and the US in the competition and emerged victorious over Iraq, France, Germany and the Netherlands.

China and the Netherlands will also play in the women’s final match today.

The competition was originally scheduled for November 16 to 27, 2022, but was postponed to June 9 to 20, 2023.
