57th ISO Developing Countries Committee Meeting Kicks Off in Australia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The 57th meeting of the Committee to Support Developing Countries (DEVCO) kicked off in Brisbane, Australia on Wednesday with the participation of representatives of national standard organizations of the member states of the Committee.

Senior officials at the International Standard Organization (ISO) delivered speeches on the opportunities and challenges facing developing countries to participate in the upcoming vision of standardization especially in the field of sustainability and creating innovation for tackling environmental crises and challenges.

Head of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) Mehdi Eslampanah and his accompanying delegation represented by the Islamic Republic of Iran, attended the meeting and exchanged views with the senior representatives of the national standard organizations as DEVCO members in order to promote trade-economic relations and strengthen joint cooperation in the field of standardization and also issues of the mutual interests.

Earlier on Tuesday, Iran’s ISIRI Chief Mehdi Eslampanah met and held talks with Uzbekistan's representative attending the meeting, saying that the ISIRI is ready to cooperate with Uzbekistan in the fields of renewable energies, testing electric cars, halal standards and other areas of mutual interest.
