Iran, Egypt Explore Ways to End Gaza Crisis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Egypt discussed the joint efforts to help Palestine and stop the Israeli regime’s brutal strikes against the people of Gaza.
In a telephone conversation on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry talked about the latest developments in Palestine.
Pointing to the stances adopted by Iran and Egypt as two important Islamic countries, Amirabdollahian said continued bilateral talks is crucial to putting an end to the ongoing crisis in Palestine and the Israeli regime’s savage strikes against civilians in Gaza and the West Bank.
He also noted that the upcoming summit of the Islamic countries in Riyadh is significant and Tehran is ready to continue consultations with Cairo, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
Amirabdollahian asserted that the Iranian Red Crescent Society is ready to send humanitarian aid to Gaza through Egypt.
Meanwhile, Shoukry expounded on Egypt’s measures to send international humanitarian aid to the people in Gaza. He also hailed the positions adopted by the Arab and Islamic countries as well as those of Iran and their efforts in this regard.
He also underlined the necessity for constant bilateral and multilateral talks to help stop the conflict, establish truce in Gaza, and send humanitarian aid to the people in the besieged enclave.
More than 10,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed in Israeli attacks since October 7, when Hamas fighters launched a surprise operation outside Gaza.
As heavy bombardment continues across Gaza, 18 UN and other humanitarian organizations have issued a statement calling for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire”.
