Palestinian Resistance Rejects Israeli Claim of 'Command Center' in Gaza Hospital

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The senior representative of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas in Lebanon Osama Hamdan, refuted Israeli claims of the movement operating a "command center" beneath Gaza's largest hospital during a presentation in Beirut on Thursday.

Presenting compelling footage, Hamdan revealed that the Israeli regime had been transferring weapons seized during the conflict into al-Shifa Hospital before falsely attributing their discovery to the facility. The footage exhibited Israeli forces transporting these weapons in cardboard boxes labeled as food aid.

Israel initiated the conflict on October 7 following the resistance movements' al-Aqsa Storm operation in response to the regime's prolonged campaign against Palestinians, resulting in significant casualties, as per the Gaza-based health ministry.

Throughout the conflict, hospitals have been primary targets of deadly Israeli raids. Al-Shifa Hospital faced incursions by Israeli bulldozers and tanks, leading to structural damage, as mentioned by the head of the Orthopedic Department.

The Gaza-based Palestinian Administration's Information Office raised concerns, citing the hospital's transformation into a perilous zone, with warnings of occupation forces firing at those attempting to leave—a violation of international law and Geneva Conventions designating medical facilities as civilian infrastructure.

Hamas has urged the United Nations to assemble an investigative team to refute Tel Aviv's allegations concerning the hospital's involvement.
