Iran’s Trade with Neighbors Exceeds $38 Billion in 8-Month Period: IRICA Chief
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The value of Iran’s trade exchanges with 15 neighboring states in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21) topped $38 billion, showing an 11.42 percent increase compared to the same period of last year.
The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) stated that the trade exchanges between Iran and 15 neighboring countries reached $38,628,390,000 from March 21 to November 22, 2023.
Mohammad Rezvanifar added that more than 63 million tons of products were exchanged between Iran and its neighbors in this period, showing a 17.21 percent hike compared to last year’s corresponding period.
Of total trade exchanges, Iran exported more than $18 billion worth of products to the neighboring states and imported over $20 billion worth of non-oil products from these countries from March 21 to November 22, 2023, Rezvanifar continued.
In this period, Iran exported its products to the neighboring countries including the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, Armenia, Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, and Turkey, indicating a 20.75 and 8.76 percent increase in weight and value respectively, he stated.
He went on to say that Iran’s import of products from its 15 neighbors has registered a 6.87 and 13.95 percent growth in weight and value respectively.
