Sudan Condemns Israeli Onslaught on Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Acting Foreign Minister of Sudan Ali Al-Sadiq Ali condemned the Israeli regime’s crimes against Gaza, expressing his country’s support for the people of Palestine.

In a meeting with the foreign minister of Iran, held in Tehran on Monday, the Sudanese diplomat voiced his country’s support for the people of Palestine and condemned the Zionist regime’s crimes and acts of aggression against Palestinians.

He also denounced the Israeli plots to drag out the crisis and civil war in Sudan.

Al-Sadiq Ali also pointed to the history of relations between Sudan and Iran, bemoaned a hiatus in the ties, and voiced his country’s determination to strengthen cooperation with Iran in various fields.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said a new chapter has opened in the promotion of relations between Tehran and Khartoum.

Expressing Iran’s determination to broaden cooperation with Sudan, he hailed plans to reopen the two countries’ embassies.

Amirabdollahian also noted that Iran is ready to share its experiences in the industrial, technical and engineering fields, new technologies, medical sciences and pharmaceutical sector with Sudan.

Sudan, which has been gripped by months of civil war, cut diplomatic ties with Iran in 2016 following the storming of the Saudi Arabian embassy in Tehran.

Saudi Arabia and Iran agreed to resume ties in March 2023 under a deal negotiated by China, raising expectations that Tehran and other Arab countries would fully re-establish diplomatic relations.
