Moharrami Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national football team right-back Sadegh Moharrami, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, underwent a successful surgery on Sunday.

He sustained a knee injury in the first half of the match against the UAE and was forced to leave the field and missed the rest of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

He will also miss the rest of the 2023-24 Croatian Football League.

Moharrami could be sidelined for at least six months after having the knee surgery.

His absence cost Team Melli in its bid to bring an end to the 48-year title drought in the Asian Cup.
