Iran Abhors Israel's Blocking of Relief Aid into Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi denounced the Israeli regime’s deliberate prevention of medical and relief aid supplies from being delivered into Gaza, calling on the international community and the “awakened human consciences” to help Palestinians.

In a message on the occasion of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day on Wednesday, Raisi decried the Zionist regime's obstructions to providing basic health and medical services to the oppressed people of Gaza.

He called on the world assemblies and all awakened human consciences to help the oppressed people of Gaza and provide the grounds for sending humanitarian aids and reducing the human suffering of Palestinians.

"The Red Cross and the Red Crescent are a symbol of the awakened human conscience and coexistence based on human dignity, which promotes social responsibility, unity, empathy and cooperation of all human beings beyond beliefs, nationality, color and race to help and serve fellow human beings in various crises and natural and unnatural disasters,” the president noted, his official website reported.

"This year, we are celebrating the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day while the people of Gaza are living in the most difficult conditions due to the lack of access to water, food, medicine and basic medical and health facilities. Despite the announcement of the readiness of the Red Crescent population of our country as a member of this big family and other countries of the world, unfortunately, they faced the Zionist regime's obstruction and even the members of this population were not safe from the brutal aggression of this regime, which is a great cause of regret," Raisi stated.

At least 34,844 people have been killed and 78,404 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
