Funeral of IRGC General Martyred in Beirut Held in Tehran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A funeral processions for senior IRGC commander Brigadier General Abbas Nilforooshan, who was martyred along with the secretary general of Hezbollah in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon on September 27, was held in Tehran on Tuesday.

Society/Culture

A huge crowd of people attended the funeral of the general at the Imam Hussein (AS) square of Tehran on Tuesday morning.

The service was participated by senior officials including Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Hossein Salami, IRGC Quds Force Commander Brigadier General Esmaeil Qaani, Judiciary Chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei, and Commander of the IRGC Ground Force Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour.

The martyr will be laid to rest after the final funeral service in Iran’s central city of Isfahan on Thursday, October 17.

General Nilforooshan, senior commander of the IRGC Quds Force and an IRGC adviser in Lebanon, was pronounced martyred in the Israeli attack that targeted a number of residential buildings in Beirut’s densely populated southern suburb of Dahiyeh on September 27.
