Abbas Araqchi on Tuesday had a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Ismatullah Nasruddin, who has visited Tehran to attend a meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Referring to the Iranian president’s recent visit to Dushanbe, Araqchi described the outlook for the relations between the two nations as highly promising, according to the ministry’s website.
He also expressed hope that the implementation of the bilateral agreements would open a new chapter in comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
Highlighting the importance and sensitivity of the ongoing regional developments, the Iranian foreign minister emphasized the necessity of maintaining close and continuous consultations between the two sides.
The Tajik diplomat, for his part, characterized the trajectory of bilateral relations and cooperation as positive and expanding.
Nasruddin affirmed that the leadership of Tajikistan is firmly committed to strengthening and deepening ties across all areas of mutual interest.
He also welcomed the recent removal of visa requirements for the air travels between the two countries and expressed optimism that increased trips by the tourists and business people would enhance people-to-people exchanges, as well as economic, trade, and tourism cooperation.
