Iran, Russia Share Interests: Spokesman
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry highlighted the “excellent” relations between Tehran and Moscow as the top Iranian diplomat arrived in Russia for an officail visit.
In a post on his X account on Thursday, Esmaeil Baqaei said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has traveled to Russia to “consult on matters of common interest and concern.”
Describing Russia as Iran’s “neighbor and strategic partner”, the spokesman said, “Iran-Russia's excellent bilateral relations are based on solid grounds of 'mutual understanding' and 'respect' as well as 'shared interests' of the two nations.”
Heading a diplomatic delegation, Araqchi arrived in Moscow on Thursday to deliver a written message from Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Araqchi is also expected to hold talks about the West Asia developments, the Israeli regime’s crimes, the war in Ukraine, and the negotiations between Iran and the US held recently in Oman.
