President Urges Probe into Deadly Blast in Iran’s Southern Port

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called for a probe into the massive explosion that rocked the southern Shahid Rajaei Port on April 26, resulting in deaths and injuries.

On Saturday, Pezeshkian maintained constant communication with the Minister of Interior, Eskandar Momeni, to assess the incident and ensure a swift response.

Pezeshkian stressed the need for a thorough and precise investigation to understand the causes of the explosion and prevent future occurrences.

The president also ordered immediate aid for the injured, prioritizing the delivery of medical supplies and rescue teams to the site, his official website reported.

According to instructions made by President Pezeshkian, all administration and rescue agencies have been directed to work together efficiently to minimize the impact of the incident.

He also tasked the governor general of Hormozgan Province with ongoing coordination efforts and daily reporting on the situation.

The president also extended heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the tragedy, emphasizing the need for a transparent investigation to ensure accountability and strengthen safety measures.
