In a post on his X account of Friday, Qalibaf responded to recent comments by Trump backing rioters in Iran, saying that the “cry of the devil” was raised after the attempts of armed field agents linked to hostile intelligence services to divert the rightful protests of business people and trade guilds into violent and armed urban warfare were thwarted by the historical awareness of the Iranian nation.
Qalibaf said the Iranian people, throughout history, have disappointed enemies far more seasoned than those currently confronting the country. He stressed that the Iranian nation never equates the ranks of protesters with foreign mercenaries and instead embraces its own beloved children.
The Parliament speaker also said the “disreputable” US president should know that, through such an official admission, all American centers and forces throughout the region would become legitimate targets for Iran in response to any possible adventurism.
Qalibaf added that Iranians have always stood united and determined to act when facing an aggressive enemy.
Earlier on Friday, US President Donald Trump repeated accusations against Iran and expressed support for recent unrest, claiming Iranian authorities were firing on what he described as “peaceful protesters.”
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said that if Iran were to shoot at peaceful protesters, the United States would intervene to “save them.”
“We are locked and loaded and ready to go,” Trump wrote.
