The Hebrew-language outlet Maariv reported that a number of demonstrators were arrested for holding protests and allegedly disrupting public order.
According to the report, the protesters had gathered at Habima Square, where an anti-government demonstration took place.
At least six people were detained on charges of inciting disorder, including a 16-year-old minor.
Meanwhile, police claimed the protesters had been holding a peaceful gathering before others joined and turned the event into unrest.
Witnesses told Maariv that disagreements between two groups of demonstrators escalated into verbal arguments and then physical clashes, with police visibly siding with one party to the confrontation.
