The announcement on Sunday evening came after a series of violent riots led by anti-Iran terrorists across the country resulted in a large number of fatalities.
The presidential office stated that the president and the cabinet are in mourning for the deceased Iranians.
The national mourning period is in remembrance of those killed during the Iranian resistance against the United States and the Israeli regime.
“The Iranian nation has witnessed firsthand the barbaric violence perpetrated by perpetrators, reminiscent of Daesh (ISIL or ISIS), against its people, Basij volunteers, and police forces, resulting in the martyrdom of many,” the government said in a statement.
It condemned the violence, characterizing it as unprecedented and linked to those supported by the United States.
Meanwhile, the Iranian government has vowed to pursue those responsible for the violence and maintain public order.
