The upcoming event, slated for September 27-30, is meant to provide a place for the IT companies wanting to display their newest products in the area of cyber security.

The expo will give a host of Iranian organizations the opportunity to find the necessary products and services amid the increasing threats of cyber-attacks in the contemporary world.

In recent months, Iran has stepped up efforts to secure both its military and civil infrastructure against cyber threats. The country has devised various civil defense strategies to protect the IT-related businesses and organizations.

Back in October 2013, Iran’s Civil Defense Organization carried out a series of specialized cyber drills in a number of key organizations, like the Central Bank, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting and a mobile phone operator to detect their vulnerabilities.

“They had many weak points, and we gave them the necessary warnings to remove the weaknesses,” Head of Iran’s Civil Defense Organization General Gholam Reza Jalali said at the time.

Later in December, Iran’s Defense Ministry unveiled 12 cyber products, all developed and manufactured by local experts, for the use in the country’s cyber sectors.

During a ceremony to unveil the products, Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan hailed Iranian military experts for making great progress in cyber fields, and said, “Producing new items and mastering cyber technologies are among the top priorities of the defense ministry.”
