US behind War on Yemen: Iranian Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri decried the invasion of Yemen by Saudi Arabia and its allies, saying that the US has ordered its puppets in the Middle East to launch the offensive.

"The aggression on Yemen has been ordered by the US and carried out by its stooges in the region," General Jazayeri said in an interview with the Tasnim News Agency.

He emphasized that every single war waged by Washington and its allies in the region over the past years has turned into a fiasco.

"The US has no clear understanding of the regional developments and people's (Islamic) Awakening", the Iranian commander said, adding that Washington's actions in the region are, therefore, not based on strategic decisions and policies.

Saudi Arabia and its Persian Gulf Arab allies on Wednesday and Thursday carried out military operations in Yemen, killing dozens of civilians in Sana'a, the capital, and other cities.

Warplanes resumed bombing the Houthi-held capital on Thursday evening, shaking whole neighborhoods and terrifying residents.
