Iran's Persepolis Defender Khanzadeh Handed 9-Month Ban

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mohammad Reza Khanzadeh, the defender of Tehran Persepolis popular football team, has been handed nine-month ban over offensive language at a football fan.

A sickening video has emerged of the Persepolis defender using "wholly inappropriate language" against a fan outside of the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Persepolis lost to Lekhwiya 3-0 in the AFC Champions League group stage.

“We stand against anyone who offends the supporters. Khanzadeh and Persepolis football club can appeal the suspension,” head of ethics committee of Iran Football Federation Ali Akbar Mohammadzadeh told the Tasnim news agency Wednesday.
