Asian Women's U-23 Volleyball Championship: Iran Loses to Thailand
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran lost to Thailand in the quarterfinals of the Asian Women's U-23 Volleyball Championship on Thursday.
The Iranian team lost 3-1 (27-29, 25-19, 25-8, 25-13) at the Philsports Arena in the competition underway in the Philippines.
Thailand moves on to the semi-final round of the tournament to face Japan, while Iran faces India - which lost to Japan earlier - in the classification round for 5th to 8th.
It’s the inaugural edition of the tournament and serves as the Asian qualifiers for the 2015 FIVB Women's U-23 Volleyball World Championship which will be held in Ankara, Turkey with the top two teams qualifying for the world championship.
