Leader Warns of Enemy Plots to Make Political, Cultural Inroads into Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei urged vigilance in the face of enemy ploys to gain a political and cultural foothold in Iran, warning that the consequences of such infiltration would be much worse than that of enemy’s economic influence.

“Economic and security infiltration is of course dangerous and has dire consequences, but the enemy’s political and cultural infiltration (into Iran) is a much more serious threat that everyone should be vigilant about,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with hundreds of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) commanders in Tehran on Wednesday.

Describing the enemy’s attempts to find a way into Iran as one of the “major threats”, the Leader called on the IRGC forces to be wary of such peril.

As part of plans for cultural infiltration, the enemy has made heavy investment to gradually change the Iranian people’s beliefs, the Leader explained.

“In the political field, the aliens seek to infiltrate into the decision-making centers,” Imam Khamenei noted, warning that implementation of that plot will put the country’s decisions and approaches under the influence of foreigners.

The Supreme Leader further debunked the West’s paradoxical approach towards Iran, saying, “On the one hand, the enemies say the Islamic Republic has power and influence in the region, and on the other hand, they say (to Iran) abandon the revolutionary morale and ideology to be absorbed into the international community.”

Those two statements are contradictory, the Leader asserted, noting that Iran will be weakened without the revolutionary spirits and conduct.

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the need for the fortification of the pillars of revolutionary morale and ideology in such a way that nothing would disrupt Iran’s move.

The Leader then called on the IRGC to continuously monitor the internal, regional and international developments and be prepared to counter threats.

“We have never been and will never be the starter of any war, but since the Islamic Republic is always facing the threat of opponents and troublemakers, it is quite necessary for the IRGC to be constantly vigilant and awake and have proportional readiness for threats,” the Leader emphasized.
