Mohammad Bana Appointed Iran’s Greco-Roman Wrestling Coach

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mohammad Bana was named as new head coach of Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling team on Sunday.

He takes charge of the team until the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Bana replaced Hassan Babak in Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling team.

“There is no enough time until the Olympics. I’ve returned to help the team and we will do our best ahead of the games,” Bana told the Tasnim news agency.

After holder Iran came fourth in the 2015 Greco-Roman World Championship in early September in Las Vegas, the US, the federation opened the negotiation with Bana.

Bana inspired Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling team to win the championship at the London Olympic Games.

The Iranian wrestlers won three gold medals in the London 2012 Olympic Games.
