Iran’s Health Minister to Visit France Soon: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Minister Seyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi is scheduled to pay an official visit to France to explore avenues for promoting health cooperation between Tehran and Paris, an official announced Wednesday.

Iranian Deputy Health Minister Mohsen Assadi Lari said Qazizadeh Hashemi will visit Paris in the near future at the invitation of French Minister for Social Affairs, Health and Women's Rights Marisol Touraine.

He added that the visit is aimed at securing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Tehran and Paris on health cooperation, which will be finalized later during President Rouhani’s upcoming trip to France.

Rouhani will travel to Paris from November 16 to 18 to meet with high-ranking French officials.

The Iranian deputy health minister added that in the meeting with his French counterpart, Qazizadeh Hashemi will also discuss the issue of French investment in building hospitals in Iran.

The Iranian minister is also planned to pay visits to a number of major hospitals and medical centers in France and hold talks with the country’s senior health figures on cooperation of French medical equipment manufactures and drug industries with the Islamic Republic, he added.
