IRGC Starts Massive Ballistic Missile Drills

TEHRAN (Tansim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force on Tuesday began the final stage of 'Might of Velayat' missile drills in different parts of the country by firing ballistic missiles from silos.

The drills were started this morning and were attended by IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari and IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh.

The military exercises were inaugurated in several stages in different parts of Iran with ballistic missiles fired from silos.

The drills are held to demonstrate (the country’s) might and sustainable security in light of unity, convergence, empathy and harmony.

The exercises are also aimed at showing Iran’s deterrence power and full preparedness for confronting any threat against the Revolution, the Establishment, and the country’s territorial integrity.

Missile maneuvers are aimed at maintaining the preparedness of the Iranian Armed Forces and enhancement of the country’s missile industry.

Iranian officials have already made it clear that the country’s military program, including the routine exercises and test of new missiles, will not be hampered by anything, including a recent nuclear deal with the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany), which took effect on January 16.
