Hezbollah Calls Attack on Israeli Soldiers Sign of Palestinians’ Continued Resistance

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, said a recent move by a Palestinian truck driver who rammed his vehicle into a crowd of Israeli soldiers proves that Palestinians are still adhered to the resistance against the Tel Aviv regime.

In a statement released on Monday, Hezbollah hailed the attack on Israeli soldiers in al-Quds (Jerusalem) and said it indicates that the Palestinian nation is still adhered to the resistance as the only way to liberate their homeland.

The daring operation shows the power of Palestinians and the cowardice of the special units of the Israeli army, the statement read.

“The Zionist regime is the source of the terrorism that has plagued the region and the reason behind all sufferings that has been inflicted on our Ummah (community),” Hezbollah said.

According to local media reports, at least four Israeli soldiers were killed and more than a dozen others injured when a truck rammed into Israel's military forces in the occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds on Sunday afternoon.

Israeli police spokeswoman, Luba Simari, said the incident took place in the Armon HaNetziv (also known as East Talpiot) promenade in southern part of East Jerusalem al-Quds as a large truck veered off road and plowed through a group of Israeli soldiers who had just gotten off a bus.

She added that four Israeli soldiers lost their lives and 18 others sustained injuries in the attack. Three of the wounded troopers are said to be in critical condition.

Israeli media outlets later reported that the driver of the truck had been shot dead, without providing any details about the identity of the driver.
