Yemeni Snipers Kill over 120 Saudi Mercenaries in March: Report

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemeni snipers hunted down more than 120 Saudi mercenaries in the central Ma'rib province over the past month alone, a report said.

According to the report carried by the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen television on Monday, Yemeni sharp shooters killed more than 120 Saudi-backed militants in the Sirwah district of Ma'rib in March.

The Arab country's military says such attacks are in response to the aggression launched by Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies in March 2015.

On Friday, nine Yemeni civilians were killed during Saudi airstrikes on residential areas in the provinces of Sa’ada and Sana’a.

The Saudi-led coalition has been launching airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in the past two years in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Some 11,000 Yemenis, including women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
