Addressing a conference in Tehran on Monday, Brigadier General Pakpour said unity among the Iranian people is the main factor behind the country’s deterrence power.

“Since the early days of the (Islamic) Revolution, we have enjoyed complete unity among the armed forces and witnessed this in the Sacred Defense era (1980-1988 Iraqi imposed war on Iran,” he said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the commander pointed to the Islamic Republic’s growing military might and said the defense power of the IRGC and the Army should be further boosted.

In recent years, Iran has taken great strides in developing it defense power.

Tehran has always assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
