AFC Futsal Championship: Iran Downs Myanmar
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian national futsal team started the 2018 AFC Futsal Championship on a high note on Friday.
Team Melli defeated debutant Myanmar 14-0 at the University of Taipei Gymnasium in Taipei.
Mehdi Javid (four goals), Aliasghar Hassanzadeh (four goals), Hossein Tayebi (three goals), Mehran Alighadr, Saeid Ahmad Abbasi and Moslem Oladghoba scored for the Iranian team.
Earlier in the day, Iraq defeated China 4-2 in Group C.
Iran will face China on Sunday in its second group match.
Iran is the most-decorated Asian team, winning the AFC Futsal Championship title 11 times.
