Carlos Queiroz to Be Named Colombia Coach after Asian Cup: Report
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national football team's coach Carlos Queiroz will become the new coach of the Colombian national team after the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
While there were rumors of Luiz Felipe Scolari possibly taking over the vacancy, the Colombian FA has struck a deal with Queiroz, Marca reported.
The 65-year-old coach will take on his new role once his participation in the Asian Cup with Iran finishes.
Queiroz, who was the former coach of teams such as Real Madrid, Portugal and South Africa, will start his new position in early February.
His official debut with the Colombian national team will come during their next set of friendlies to be held in March.
