President Orders Purchase in Advance of Iranian Vaccine

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi called for support for the domestic producers of the coronavirus vaccine by purchasing their products in advance.

In comments at a Saturday session of the Coronavirus Fight National Headquarters, the president ordered that the efforts of the Iranian producers of the coronavirus vaccine be supported through the purchase in advance of the vaccines certified by the Ministry of Health.

Lauding the domestic companies’ praiseworthy activities, Raisi said one of the administration’s priorities is to support the development of homegrown vaccines.

He also emphasized the necessity of compliance with the health protocols to contain the pandemic in Iran, noting that introduction of smart restrictions should not result in laxity in observing the health regulations.

More than 55.57 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine so far, while over 42.18 million have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
