FIBA World Cup 2023 Qualifier: Iran Falls Short against Australia
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Australia 98-68 in the Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers on Monday.
Dejan Vasiljevic had a game-high 23 points and five rebounds for the hosts and Iran’s Mohammad Jamshidi scored 17 points.
Team Melli had defeated Japan 79-68 in Tehran on Thursday.
Iranian iconic players Hamed Haddadi and Arsalan Kazemi were absent in the match held in Bendigo, Australia in Group F.
The top three teams from all groups will compete in two groups of six teams, where each team will face others from the other group.
