Iran Renews Calls for Regional Cooperation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign minister of Iran reiterated the necessity for closer cooperation among regional countries in order to fulfill common interests.

A delegation from Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, headed by the Arab country’s Deputy Foreign Minister for regional affairs Mohammed bin Abdulaziz al-Khulaifi, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in Tehran on Wednesday.

The two sides discussed various bilateral issues, the recent developments in regional and global spheres, issues of mutual interest, and the development of Tehran-Doha relations.

Highlighting Iran’s determination to develop relations with Qatar, Amirabdollahian stressed the need to implement the agreements made during Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s visit to Doha and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani’s visit to Tehran.

He also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation among regional countries within the framework of common interests.

For his part, Qatar’s deputy foreign minister emphasized the importance of developing bilateral relations, saying promotion of cooperation at the regional level is significant.
