TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The streets of Paris have become filled with overflowing trash bins and garbage bags, as the cleaning workers continue their strike.

On Thursday, footage showed small dumpsters forming in some parts of the city. According to local media reports, the city hall estimated that more than 3,700 tons of waste have already piled up on the streets.

Approximately 30 percent of the city's garbage collectors have been on strike since Tuesday. This strike by social service workers has occurred amidst nationwide protests against the latest pension reform in France.

The government's proposal to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 has sparked demonstrations across the country.
