Iran’s Army Receives New Gear

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Army Ground Force took delivery of over 1,000 new items, including combat equipment, missiles, vehicles and electronic warfare systems.

The military equipment and gear that have been manufactured, optimized or overhauled by the Ground Force experts were unveiled on Tuesday in a ceremony attended by Army Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi.

Among the items that have gone into operation are “Kian-800” tank transporter, pontoon bridges, a grenade launcher simulator, “Arash” electronic warfare system, a portable radar jamming system installed on “Mohajer-6” drones, tactical command and control vehicles, transportation vehicles used to set up portable telecommunication stations, a tactical cellular system providing mobile network coverage, and “Majid” air defense system.

Some other products unveiled on Tuesday include “Almas” missiles, “Qaem” bombs, “Dehlaviyeh-2” anti-tank missiles, three night-vision optical systems, “Shafaq” chaff and flare countermeasure systems and missiles paired with Cobra attack helicopters, “Fath-360” missile systems, smart shells with pinpoint accuracy, and various artillery weapons.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will be never subject to negotiations.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has repeatedly called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities, hitting back at the enemies for disputing the country’s missile program.
