RIPI Proposes Launching Iran-Russia Joint Union in Oil, Gas Sectors

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian oil official on Wednesday said that setting up a joint union between Iran, Russia and members of the Commonwealth Independent States (CIS) in the field of oil and gas can be a good framework for cooperation.

Speaking among senior managers and directors of the oil ministry in a joint meeting with the envoys of the Commonwealth Independent States (CIS), Director of the Iranian Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) Azim Kalantari Asl stated that the institute is ready to present specialized applied-training courses to the scientific centers and oil-gas companies of the CIS in the fields of oil and gas.

Referring to the sanctions imposed against Iran, he said that the institute has managed to thwart the sanctions by developing technologies required in the oil industry.

He went on to say that the institute has established necessary cooperation and coordination with various countries in the relevant field.
