Iran’s President Hopes for Development of Ties with Algeria

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi congratulated Algeria on the anniversary of the Arab country’s revolution, expressing hope for the expansion of relations between Tehran and Algiers.

In a message to his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Raisi congratulated the anniversary of the beginning of the liberating revolution of the country, the achievement of which was the independence and freedom of the historic and proud country of Algeria from colonialism.

In his congratulatory message, Raisi expressed hope that relying on the position of Iran and Algeria in promoting Islamic culture and civilization and enjoying the deep historical and cultural commonalities, the two Muslim countries witness will the ever-increasing development of good relations and expanding cooperation in various global and regional fields for the benefit of the highest interests of the Islamic Ummah, according to the website of the president’s office.

In a telephone conversation with Tebboune in July, the Iranian president also hoped for the enhancement of relations with Algeria on the basis of the two nations’ rich culture and history.

Highlighting the Iranian government’s determination to develop relations with friendly and aligned Islamic countries, Raisi expressed hope that the relations with Algeria, especially in the commercial and economic fields, would expand day by day, considering the significant mutual capacities.
