Iran advanced to the quarter-final round after defeating Iraq 13-2 on Sunday in the competition underway in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
“We are just doing our job, we’re not focused on how many goals we win by or what other nations are doing we just want to complete our own goals and aims,” said Iran coach Mohammad Nazemalsharia.
“We’ve said right from the start of the competition that our sole focus and aim is on winning this championship and nothing has changed but it was definitely good for us to play in front of a large crowd of local fans and we thank them for coming as they have been wonderful throughout the event,” Iran coach added.
Iran will take on Kyrgyzstan in quarter-final on Wednesday.
