Commander Vows Iran’s “Proportional Response” to Threats

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) commander warned the enemies that any possible aggression against Iran will result in the country’s reaction proportionate to the level of threat.

“The Islamic Republic responds to any threat at the same level,” Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said in a gathering of students in Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad on Tuesday.

The commander also cautioned Israel against the grave consequences of any possible military action against Iran.

“The Zionist regime’s officials repeatedly raise threats against Iran, but they know well that the cost of any attack on Iran will be so dear and our response will be such strong that even imagining that is a nightmare for them (Israelis),” he explained.

In relevant comments earlier in April, Iran’s Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi emphasized that the country’s response to any possible aggression by enemies would be strong and crushing.

The enemies are well aware that "if they dare to take a move, we are ready and we are confident of our triumph," he explained at the time.

He cautioned enemies of dire consequences of possible military move against Iran, and stated, "Our response to any possible attack would be much more crushing than (Iran's response during) the Sacred Defense (Iraqi imposed war on Iran in the 1980s)."
