Netanyahu Spreading Falsehoods about Iran Nuclear Deal: Report

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has launched a misinformation campaign to rally Jewish Americans’ support against the conclusion of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Iran and major world powers, a report said.

"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has launched a campaign to mobilise Jewish Americans against the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers championed by President Barack Obama, which is facing review by the US Congress," Al Jazeerah reported.

In a webcast organized by Jewish groups in North America, Netanyahu claimed that the Iran nuclear accord was “not enough to curb Iranian nuclear projects with bomb-making potential.”

"I don't oppose this deal because I want war. I oppose this deal because I want to prevent war. And this deal will bring war," he said.

Earlier and during a speech at American University in Washington today, President Obama argued that it will be a “historic mistake” should the Congress block the conclusion of nuclear talks between Iran and world powers.

Obama stressed that the decision facing Congress “should not even be a close call.”

Obama has embarked on a personal lobbying push to persuade Democratic lawmakers to support the agreement ahead of the five-week August recess.
