TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday lauded the country’s cooperation with Indonesia, saying the two countries have had very good political and international relations.

“Our views as two Islamic and Non-Aligned countries are very close to one another, and we have had very good collaborations,” Zarif said in a joint press conference with his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi here in Tehran.

“Both countries have serious concerns about the spread of extremism and terrorism,” Zarif noted, adding that the two sides have had good talks on the issue.

He also voiced the willingness of Iranian companies to participate in infrastructural projects in the Southeast Asian country.

Marsudi, for her part, said that Tehran and Jakarta have a big role in the reinforcement of democracy and the fight against terrorism.

The Indonesian minister arrived in the Iranian capital earlier in the day at the head of a high-ranking delegation including Indonesian energy minister and a number of state-run oil companies.
