Several Saudi Servicemen Killed in Yemeni Attacks on Najran, Jizan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The forces of the Yemeni army and Popular committees, in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi-led coalition, targeted a military base in the kingdom’s southwestern province of Najran, killing several Saudi servicemen.
The explosion at the Shaja military base in Najran occurred on Saturday, killing a number of Saudi forces in the base, an informed source said, according to the Arabic-Language al-Masirah TV.
In another development, the artillery unit of the Yemeni army pounded the positions of the Saudi-led coalition forces in Jizan, inflicting heavy casualties on them.
According to Saudi media reports, about 55 military forces of the kingdom have been killed in clashes with the Yemeni troops since May 10.
The attacks by the Yemeni forces were carried out in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.
Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president.
