Iraqi Politician: Trump Signing Own Death Warrant with Deal of Century

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iraqi Kurdish politician lambasted the American proposal for the settlement of conflicts in Palestine, saying US President Donald Trump will be signing his own death warrant by pushing for the so-called deal of the century.

In an interview with Tasnim, Secretary-General of the Reform and Development Movement of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region Mohammad Baziani said the US has hatched a dreadful plot against Muslim nations by proposing the deal of the century.

“I believe that Trump will be signing his own death warrant by taking this measure (deal of the century plot) and will be gone like his predecessors who came to power, resorted to intimidation and threats, and were ultimately gone,” the Kurdish politician said, adding that what remains intact will be Islam with all its dignity and glory.

Baziani also deplored the weakness of certain Arab rulers and their backing for the American and Israeli plots against Islam, saying the global arrogance has always been supporting such rulers, particularly those in Saudi Arabia, who would only serve the interests of enemies of Islam.

The deal of century ploy, fronted by Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, has already been rejected by the Palestinians, who say the White House's policies have been blatantly biased in favor of Israel.

Details of the purported peace plan have not been released, but it is thought to involve economic incentives for Palestinians in return for them giving up efforts for statehood.

Despite the economic hardship, the Palestinians have indicated they will reject Kushner's proposals if, as expected, his plan does not promote a Palestinian state and an end to the Israeli occupation.
