Iran Sympathizes with Families of Aden Airport Attack Victims

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry offered sympathy with the families of victims of a deadly attack on the Aden airport on Wednesday, blaming the continued foreign invasion for violence and instability in Yemen.

In a statement on Thursday, Saeed Khatibzadeh expressed his sympathy with the families of victims of the explosion in the airport of Aden.

The continuation of foreign aggression and occupation of Yemen is the main reason behind instability and lack of law and order, and has threatened Yemen’s territorial integrity, he added.

Khatibzadeh said such violent attacks and massacre of civilians are the outcome of policies of the aggressors and occupiers who have devastated Yemen under the name of a self-proclaimed coalition and have caused the most heinous humanitarian crisis in Yemen with warmongering and separationist views.

“The Islamic Republic condemns the aggressive and warmongering measures by the aggressors, stresses a political solution, and once again calls on all parties to end the futile conflict by returning to political dialogue,” the spokesman added.

An explosion hit the Yemeni airport of Aden on Wednesday concurrent with the entrance of the new “cabinet” of fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi into the airport.

At least 22 people were reportedly killed and 50 were wounded in the attack.
