Iran U-17 Freestyle Tops Asian Wrestling Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's U-17 freestyle team finished first at the 2023 Asian Wrestling Championships on Tuesday.

The Iranian freestylers claimed six gold medals, three silver medals and one bronze in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

Iran came first with 225 points, while India (180) and Kazakhstan (158) came second and third, respectively.

Ahora Khateri (45kg), Sam Sayar (48kg), Sina Khalili (65kg), Abolfazl Hosseini (71kg), Abolfazl Rahmani (80kg) and Tohid Nouri (92kg) won six gold medals for Iran.

Amir Reza Teymourizad (55kg), Sajad Pirdayeh (60kg) and Abolfazl Mohammadnezhad (110kg) took three silvers and Amir Mohammad Navazi (51kg) seized a bronze.

Iran had also won the Greco-Roman title two days ago.
